Day 17: A photo of you and your family...

These are the photos Matt's dad took, so I don't have a group one of his side... But here are siblings, sans spouses + most of the nieces and nephews:)

We have a great family:)

Day 16: Your celebrity crush...

My crushes on male celebrities are very come and go, while my female celebrity crushes last a while longer. Hugh Jackman seems pretty cute. Good looking and seems like a decent dad.

I, of course, have a crush on Zooey Deschanel, but that seems so trendy right now.

A celebrity couple crush I have is John Krazinski and Emily Blunt. I think they're pretty adorable together

Keri Russel is very pretty. And I'm forever jealous of her curly, untamed hair.
I also think Whitney Port is pretty cute (although I do not condone her personal life choices). I think I relate to her style sometimes.
Hopefully I won't be judged by my choice of crushes:) I'm sure there are others I didn't think of that could replace a few of the ones in this post...

Day 14: A TV Show Your Currently Addicted To...

I don't think I'm addicted to any shows right now, but I do really love Modern Family...

Day 13: Your Favorite Musician and Why

I don't think I could say I have one favorite musician. I think I end up liking songs, more than a single artist, so I have a really wide variety of songs I like from tons of different genres.

I never get sick of oldies. Music from the 50's and 60's (maybe a *few* songs from the 70's). I especially love motown and I LOVE The Temptations and The Supremes.

But I always love hearing and trying out new music... (if you have any suggestions:)

Day 12: A Photograph of the town you live in.

I actually live in Holladay, but there isn't really one photo to describe the city, so I chose the next closest place, Salt Lake City.

Here are some of my favorite eateries from both (just for fun):

Hire's Big H: One of my favorite hamburger places growing up. (There's one in Salt Lake and Murray) My dad used to take my brother and I to get cherry limeades there, which are delicious and so are their french fries!
Nielson's Frozen Custard: I LOVE their ice cream! (There's one in Holladay and St. George). I could get a chocolate concrete with brownie everyday. This place was also the first "date" Matt and I went on.

Beehive Tea Room: This small lunch/tea room is so much fun. Super adorable and they have delicious lavender ice cream!

Millcreek Cafe and Eggworks: This place serves lunch and dinner too, but Matt and I like to go there for breakfast. We used to eat here every once and a while when we were dating, so it has sentimental value too:)

Try a few of them if you get a chance! They really are delicious:)

Day 11: What's in your makeup bag?

My makeup routine is pretty simple. I use about two of the brushes in that set and I only apply eye shadow on special occasions. Usually just a little powder foundation, blush, mascara and chapstick. For me, less really is more.

Day 10: A Photo of Your Favorite Place to Eat

Since I am very much behind and the last post was kind of lame, I thought I'd double it up today!

I don't really have a favorite restaurant but I love any sushi restaurant. Tsunami is pretty good.

Or I love any Italian restaurant with gnocchi. mmmmmm.....delicious.

Matt and I really love Pei Wei. Sounds super delicious right about now.I hope this picture makes it look appetizing to everyone because it really is so good. Try it out!

Day 9: A Photo of the Last Item You Purchased

I think I'm going to have to do a pass on this post since what I last purchased is not even close to exciting. I won't bore you with a photo of our milk, water bottles, bread, etc.

Day 8: A Song to Match Your Mood

I'm not usually a fan of the Beach Boys and actually I usually change the station when they come on, but recently "Wouldn't it be Nice" came on the radio and the lyrics made me so happy. It really is such a sweet love song and reminds me of when Matt and I were engaged. One of the things I really love about being married is not having to say goodnight to one another so I love the line in the second paragraph.

Wouldn't it be nice if we were older
Then we wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

You know its gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together

Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through

Happy times together we've been spending
I wish that every kiss was neverending
Wouldn't it be nice

Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true
Baby then there wouldn't be a single thing we couldn't do
We could be married
And then we'd be happy

Wouldn't it be nice

You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But lets talk about it
Wouldn't it be nice

Good night my baby
Sleep tight my baby

Day 7: Your Dream Wedding

Sorry for being a slacker the last couple of days. The weekends are always so distracting.

My dream wedding would honestly have to be my own wedding day. I thought it was absolutely perfect. Definitely the best day of my life:)

Sure, maybe if I had $1,000,000 I would have changed a few things, but I absolutely loved my wedding. The weather could not have been more perfect and being married in the temple was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.

(These photos were taken by my cousin Jenny)

AND I married the best guy in the world, so, you know, it can't really get better than that:))

I LOVED my cake. It was so delicious.

Day 6: A photo of an animal you'd love to keep as a pet

This is a baby polar bear. Adorable, right?? I looked at the post for "day 6" and happened upon this photo, and I immediately knew it was the animal I would love for a pet. Until I found out it was a fake! I was so bummed. Apparently it is a stuffed animal. It's still an adorable image, though.

I have always loved panda bears, actually. Adorable when they're little and then big and cuddly when they get older, right?? Just a big pillow:) Maybe they do get a little too large to keep, but the idea sounds great.

Also, Matt and I came across this video a while ago. I'm sure many of you have already seen it, but we almost died laughing. Watch it a few times, it gets funnier every time.

Day 5: A photo of yourself 2 years ago

Two years ago would be 2009, but since it's *barely* 2011, I chose this photo from 2008. This is Matthew and I in front of the WWII memorial in Washington D.C.

Day 3: Your idea of the perfect first date.

Ok. So the "day 2" post wasn't too exciting. Maybe this one will be *slightly* more interesting.

Since I don't do "first dates" anymore (just the married kind) I'll elaborate on a perfect date with Matt.

Maybe the dinner and a movie idea sounds like a cop-out, but I really love doing that with Matt. Since we hardly get to see each other I guess I just love spending time with him no matter what we do.

But to make it more specific... The perfect date would of course be in the summer. I would love for us to get dressed up really fancy(so I could wear a dress and he could wear a suite... with a bow tie;) and go somewhere nice for dinner. Preferably a restaurant neither of us had been to, but knew was delicious from friend recommendations.

And then I'd like to come home and get into super cosy clothes and watch a rented movie together.

OR

I'd love to get a blanket, lay down in the backyard, watch the stars, talk and then fall asleep outside.

...mmmm. That sounds nice.

Day 1: A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was...

Today was a pretty good day. Matt and I spoke in church on a talk given by Elder Scott in October's general conference called "The Transforming Power of Faith and Character." Matt did a really great job and I thought mine went well (always your own worst critic). Both of our parents came and it was really great to have them there; when speaking in a new ward, friendly faces are always welcome. (p.s. Elder Scott's talk is a really great one and I highly recommend it to give one a little uplift).

One thing that was positive about speaking was that a bunch of people came up to us after and I felt a little more at home in the ward. After sacrament it was business as usual -- Sunday School and Relief Society, which were both pretty good.

After church Matt and I always do our calling, which is visiting the home-bound members in the ward. It has been a really rewarding calling and we have both loved getting to know the older members. The priests we go with are pretty rad too. Really sweet boys.

Next we went to my parent's for dinner, which was delicious. Sunday dinners are the best because whether we are at the Sligting's or the Mays' we always know we'll be eating something super delicious (and way better than anything I could make!) My mom made a yummy poppy seed cake tonight. So moist! (Sorry, Natalie!)

And to end the night we came home to find delicious cookies Matt's mom Marie left for us on our doorstep. So very thoughtful -- which is always like Marie:)

Happy Sunday!
