Year in Review: 2010

I realized, after wanting to do a post over this past year that I
hardly have any pictures previous to April. So this is a review of *most* of 2010.

APRIL

My besties Kimi and Landon got married. Natalie and I were bridesmaids:)

Also, my family and I went to Disneyland!

MAY

No photos from May, but it was great:)

JUNE

Dinner in Park City with Kimi and Landon.

Dinner with Matt's family up Millcreek Canyon. Our cute niece Emily is playing in the background.

JULY

My beloved friend Catie came home from her mission in Korea. It's been the absolute best having her at BYU with me:)

Matt and I both had our birthdays in July. Sadly I have no photos from his big day, but since our birthdays are only a week apart I will count this photo for both.

AUGUST

Matt and I took our engagement photos. The weather totally stressed me out, raining the days leading up to and the days following, but luckily the sun shined(shone?) the day we took the photos. (Courtesy of Courtney Brooke Photography)

SEPTEMBER

Matt and I got married:)) (still waiting for our *official* photos. These are a few from Matt's dad and Natalie)

OCTOBER & NOVEMBER

Halloween! Thanksgiving! Sadly, again, no real photos... (these months with no photos have taught me a lesson to take more control of my camera and start saving memories!)

DECEMBER

Our first Christmas tree! We are still in the process of decorating our little apartment...
Matt indulged me and took me to the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert with David Archuleta. We went last year as one of our first official dates and I thought it was so great. I want to make it a tradition:)

This time around, I have to admit, my opinion was a little negative of this pop sensation, but I was blown away by his voice during the concert. His vocals have my respect.

P.s. Matt has started wearing bow ties and I love it:)

Matt took me to see the lights on Temple Square. A favorite Christmas tradition of mine:)

2010 was a really a great year:) Here's to 2011!!

Courtesy of Kenneth Mays...

I've been a slacker at blogging as of the past few months...

But here are a few pictures from the wedding that Matt's dad took.

That day really was the best ever:) And I sure do love this guy a lot.

I think this last one, with Matt's nieces and nephews, is hilarious. I hope you can see our faces. "Wait a second, what do we do with these kids? Help?" (I wish I could think of a funnier phrase, but you get the idea:)
We look pretty worried about it. ;)

Hello again! I'm married!

I really cannot even believe I'm married:) (As of September 24th) The day could not have gone more perfectly and I loved every minute of it! Our sealing was one of the most spiritual experiences I have been a part of and I am so grateful to have been married in the temple. It was truly incredible and I don't think I'll ever be able to fully express what a blessing it has been to us so far. I know it will always be an amazing blessing for our marriage.

This past month has definitely kept Matt and I crazy busy. But crazy busy in an awesome-i-get-to-be-married-to-the-best-person-ever kind of way:)

I'm hoping to get wedding photos soon that I can post! But until then, here are a couple that my amazing cousin Jenny took (who flew all the way from Arizona for the wedding-as did one of my very best friends Amy-I am sooooo incredibly appreciative and happy they could come:))

Danny & Annie

I hesitated to watch this little movie at first b/c the cartoons threw me off, but it is so heartbreakingly sweet and tender. It's the story of this couple's married lives together starting with their first date. It will melt your heart.

Utah State Fair

Matt and I went to the Utah State Fair this last weekend. It was great:) We rode the ferris wheel, ate a corn dog, and rode down a giant yellow slide. I think our little trip was a success.

Oh, and Boyz II Men was playing that night. So, you know, definitely a bonus.

I know they're small. I took this from the top of the ferris wheel. But don't worry. It's them:)

Another Shower:) and Porter Rockwell has Crickets...

My wonderful family through me a shower last Saturday. The food was delicious!

My family gave Matt and I some really awesome things and I can't wait to start playing house and use them:) My niece, Kristi (sitting to my left), made me this adorable apron. (This is me looking domestic...)

And I have to take a sappy moment and just say how grateful I am to my friends and family for throwing these showers for me. They have meant a lot to me and I really love getting together with everyone:))

On a side note... I really love running on the Porter Rockwell trail by my house, but lately it has been infested with crickets! And they are terrifying. (On occasion there have also been preying mantises, which are equally, if not more, terrifying as they stand there completely still on the side of the trail with an evil plan to attack me as I come running by. Luckily it hasn't happened...yet)

The crickets can easily be mistaken for a piece of bark or a small broken tree branch so I am constantly a little uneasy as I run. And since I'm too blind to tell which it is, it's not until a closer approach that I discover them and they JUMP, which always scares me like crazy. What scares me the most is that you can't tell which way they are going to jump. I know the worst they can do is be gross and bounce of my leg if they run into me, but every time I happen upon one I can't help but flinch and hold my breath while I pick up my legs a little more to try and avoid their bounce - probably looking hilarious to the person behind me.

What makes it even worse is that a couple of days ago I watched an episode of Bones with my mom (one of her favorite shows) and the murder victims were eaten alive by insects:( Bad idea.

I don't know where these crickets came from, but I'd be a lot happier if they went and lived in a field or something.

A Shower and a wedding update...

This past week I had a shower with my friends down in Provo. I have wonderful friends and it was so fun to see everyone! HUGE thank you to Natalie and Lisa, especially, for putting everything together:)

Wedding update: MY DRESS!!
I *finally* have my dress! And I am in love with it! It couldn't be more perfect. I wish I could post photos, but I don't want Matt to see it before the wedding:)

She & Him

She & Him is one of my very favorite bands right now. Matt was sweet (as always:) and went with me to the Twilight Concert Series to hear them play this last Thursday. Even though it took us almost 30 minutes to find a parking(!), I thought they were really good and Matt even said he liked them after!

I think Zooey Deschanel is super adorable. I'd be totally ok if someone told me I looked like her.

I was bummed we hadn't taken any photos of us at the concert so I made us document the night afterwards...A little lame, I know... especially because we were both super tired and it kind of shows in the photo, but I think it's still cute anyway:)

Also. We learned there were about 50,000 people there that night! Insane!

Friends!

I love my friends.

Last week Natalie introduced me to a super delicious ice cream shop in Provo called La Michoacana (1700 N State St). It is SOOOO worth going. And if you get to go with Natalie you'll love it *that* much more:)

I know this photo is burry, and I hope it doesn't give too many people a headache looking at it, but Natalie and I thought it was kind of cute blurry.

Also. Some of my amazing friends threw me a shower last Saturday. I really loved it so so much. It was so nice to get together with everyone and catch up. And the food was delicious! I should have taken a picture. Shout out to Catie and her amazing culinary skills!

And one more photo:) Bee's game. 2010:

Home Run Paul!!

Paul McAnulty started out the game as my favorite player. He hit the first home run and you could just tell by his batting stance at home plate that he was gonna make this one a winner;)...

So, Matt and I went to a Bees game last night:) We won 10-5 against the New Orleans Zephyrs!!
GO BEES!

It's been a couple of years since I've been to a Bees game and Matt couldn't even remember if he *had* been to one!!

Since the Bees won we could take our tickets to Sonic and get a celebratory (free) cherry limeade - one of my favorite drinks. Theirs isn't as good as Hire's but victory sure still tasted sweet;) (I know, I know, totally cheesy, but I thought it was kind of funny...:)

Happy Birthday, Matt!!

Today is Matt's birthday:)

Matt is a total dreamboat and I can't even wait to marry him! Here are just a few reasons why... (in no particular order)

1. He can always make me smile:))
2. And he can always make me laugh.
3. He knows the words to my favorite Mariah Carey songs (I hope he doesn't get mad at me for posting that, but I just love it so much!)
4. He looks super handsome in a suit.
5. He is so kind and considerate of others (and me:).
6. He can make so many different styles of glasses look so good. (totally jealous)
7. He makes me feel like I'm funny when I attempt something that's supposed to be a joke.
8. He makes an amaaazing turkey and grilled cheese sandwich.
9. He is such a dedicated and diligent worker.
10. I love being with him so much! No matter what we're doing.

I love you, Matt! Happy Birthday!!

Thursday, July 15, 2010

It was my birthday, and it was great.

Monday was my birthday and it really was one of the best birthdays I've had in a while. And I'm going to be cheesy for two seconds and say that it was because I have so many kind and amazing friends and family who took a few seconds out of their day to make it special. Thank you!!!!

My parents got me a new backpack, which I desperately needed! I had been using my previous one since 7th grade and it barely made it through college graduation. Can't wait to put this one to good use in the fall!! And sweet Matt got me an adorable pair of purple keds. I love him:)

Matt and I went swimming, which was soooo nice. It wasn't too hot and it was great to just kind of do nothing for a while:) I then had to go to class, which was a total bummer, but afterwards Matt and I met my family for dinner at a restaurant I found called Michelangelo Ristorante.

It was delicious and I highly recommend it. I, of course, had gnocchi, which was super delicious.

It was a great day and went by too quickly. But it continued a little on Tuesday when I got to work at the UMFA and my co-workers had decorated my little office space! I quite liked it:)

(the photo's a little dark... sorry)

So, now I'm 23 and life is seriously better than ever:))
