My wonderful family through me a shower last Saturday. The food was delicious!
My family gave Matt and I some really awesome things and I can't wait to start playing house and use them:) My niece, Kristi (sitting to my left), made me this adorable apron. (This is me looking domestic...)
And I have to take a sappy moment and just say how grateful I am to my friends and family for throwing these showers for me. They have meant a lot to me and I really love getting together with everyone:))
On a side note... I really love running on the Porter Rockwell trail by my house, but lately it has been infested with crickets! And they are terrifying. (On occasion there have also been preying mantises, which are equally, if not more, terrifying as they stand there completely still on the side of the trail with an evil plan to attack me as I come running by. Luckily it hasn't happened...yet)
The crickets can easily be mistaken for a piece of bark or a small broken tree branch so I am constantly a little uneasy as I run. And since I'm too blind to tell which it is, it's not until a closer approach that I discover them and they JUMP, which always scares me like crazy. What scares me the most is that you can't tell which way they are going to jump. I know the worst they can do is be gross and bounce of my leg if they run into me, but every time I happen upon one I can't help but flinch and hold my breath while I pick up my legs a little more to try and avoid their bounce - probably looking hilarious to the person behind me.
What makes it even worse is that a couple of days ago I watched an episode of Bones with my mom (one of her favorite shows) and the murder victims were eaten alive by insects:( Bad idea.
I don't know where these crickets came from, but I'd be a lot happier if they went and lived in a field or something.
